According to a press statement availed to The Guardian yesterday by
Japanese Embassy the opening ceremony will be held on Friday next
week (July 3)at the Saba Saba grounds where Ambassador of Japan to
Tanzania Masaharu Yoshida will launch the ceremony.
The statement says the Japanese companies will exhibit at the
Pavilion from July 3 to July 7 this year providing opportunity for
Tanzanians to learn the country and discover its products and services.
“It will also be an opportunity for Japanese exhibitors to find out
more about the Tanzanian market and deepen network with Tanzanian
businesses,” reads the statement in part.
The Japan Pavilion is co-hosted by Japan External Trade
Organisation and Japan Pavilion Steering Committee in the Committee of
Commerce and Industry of the Japanese Society of Tanzania.
In 2013 Saba Saba trade fair, the Japan booth was recognised as the
best foreign exhibitor and in 2014, the Japan Pavilion received a
number of VIPs including their Imperial Highness Prince Akishino and
Princess Akishino and President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.
Held on July 7, Saba Saba is the International Trade Fair day held at the Saba Saba grounds near Kurasini in Dar es Salaam.
The fair hosts over 1800 exhibitors from across the world and runs for 7 days from roughly June 28th through July 8th.
The International Trade Fair has established itself as a shop
window for Tanzanian products as well as other Eastern, Central, and
Southern African countries.
