Dar es Salaam.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam yesterday at a press conference, the
Marketing Coordinator from Toroquemeters, Hocine Belkhiri said the
machine operates automatically and restores data for later
investigation.
Belkhiri said the machine will be installed in gas or oil pipeline
and the owner can monitor or read the information directly by various
technologies like the internet. “After being installed in the pipeline
the machine will detect and monitor all processes of transporting and
distributing oil and gas to various places.”
A Coordinator from Pride Com LTD, Mnukwa Ally told reporters that
he invited the UK company to invest in the country so as to protect the
discovery of gas which Tanzania expects to start transporting and
distributing it.
After a long discussion with the UK Company they agreed that it was
the right time for Tanzania to have that technology which has helped
many countries all over the world. The Pride Com Coordinator told
reporters that the machine will also detect the amount of oil or gas
which will be generated per day as well as putting a specific amount
which is supposed to be paid.
Mnukwa added that because the machine would be installed in a huge
pipeline, it will cost $ 60,000, to $100,000 per gas station where the
machine will be installed.
The technology started operating in 1974 has been used in many
countries like Malaysia, Angola, Canada, Vietnam, China, America, United
Kingdom, Brazil and Venezuela.
